Addax (plural addax)
  1. (zoology) One of the largest African antelopes (Hippotragus, ∨ Oryx, nasomaculatus). It is now believed to be the Strepsiceros (twisted horn) of the ancients. By some it is thought to be the pygarg of the Bible.
